For over 20 years, Michelle McIver has played in the online space, collaborating on the creation of games, websites, apps, social media and YouTube content.

Her portfolio includes the CSA (Canadian Screen Awards) and YMA (Youth Media Alliance) nominated Look Kool and C’est Wow interactive, Kidscreen nominated Amazing Dream Job Adventure for the series When I Grow Up!, and Amelie et Compagnie’s spin-off and Kidscreen nominated web series, Les Vlogues de Newton. Other projects include National Film Board’s interactive documentary, The Faith Project, and mobile game FRACTER, which was featured in the app store as Game of the Day in over 126 countries.

With an expertise in marketing and discoverability planning, Michelle has been a writer and contributor to successful applications for BellFund, CMF, Shaw Rocket Fund, IDM Fund, IPF, Rogers Fund, Cogeco Fund, Telefilm and Northern Ontario Heritage Fund. Michelle has worked with dozens of media producers across Canada and broadcasters including TVO, TFO, CBC, Radio-Canada, Unis, Netflix, and YTV. She was lead discoverability analyst for Shaw Rocket Fund and is often called on as an expert reviewer for others.

Michelle has a passion for helping those new to the online space, making them feel comfortable with technology and the opportunities it provides. As an associate of The Arts Firm, Michelle helped create the Digital Strategy for Mulgrave Road Theatre, supported by Canada Council for the Arts. She ran a coaching program for YouTube Canada, helping top creators navigate web series funding for the first time. She worked with the Alliance des producteurs des francophones du Canada (APFC) to plan a discoverability research initiative to allow regional francophone producers better understand audiences outside of Quebec. She helped structure and write content for OnScreen Manitoba’s Content Creator Toolkit, an online resource for content creation in Canada. She is a long time consultant to Interactive Ontario, most recently conducting research for the Ontario Creates funded project, Foundations for Success. Michelle is a regular moderator and contributor on panels for film, tv and digital.
