Connie wansbrough, chair
Connie is a designer, entrepreneur, teacher and Co-Founder of Skillpod, Inc. She has a BSc in Industrial Design from The Art Centre in Pasadena, CA and a Master’s in Corporate Communications from IE University, Madrid. For the past 20 years, she has straddled the worlds of philanthropy and design, taking a design thinking and design-driven approach to social issues and social enterprise. She was the Executive Director of the Harbinger Foundation from 2003-2015 where she was first introduced to Ross and the work of Volcano. She has leveraged her 12 years of teaching and developing curriculum focusing on design research, design entrepreneurship and work/life skills in the development of Skillpod, Inc. Skillpod is a social mission enterprise focusing on helping people prepare for the future of work. Her research on creativity appeared in the RGD peer reviewed journal, Transformations (2015). For Skillpod, she co-wrote the book, Be There, with 7 Skills for Work (and Life) in the Digital Age, has developed innovative digital and physical assessment and learning tools. She has served on the Board of Directors of TIFF, The Peer Review Committee for Stars in Global Health, and The Lawson Foundation.
Connie has been a board member at Volcano since 2018.
