The class will explore the tension between action based approaches to scene work and embodied text-based practices that privilege moment to moment presence, figurative heft, and text-derived ensemble building. the walkabout (collective text ambulation), the labyrinth (sensory image mapping), and core-sampling (plumbing the poetics of complex text and dropping into stage directions).
