Clare Preuss
Clare has collaborated with innovative companies and festivals in Canada, Germany, Lebanon, Switzerland and Uganda and the USA including: Alameda, Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland, Bayimba International Festival, bcurrent, BeMe, Blyth Festival, Buddies in Bad Times, Buffalo Infringement Festival, Cahoots, Carlos Bulosan, Driftwood, Dynamo, Factory, Friction Group, fu-GEN, Gwaandak, KABIN, Magnetic North, Native Earth, New Harlem, National Arts Centre, Nightwood, Stratford Festival, SpringWorks, SummerWorks, Theatre Centre, Theatre Direct, Theatre Monnot, Why Not Theatre and Young People’s Theatre among others. Clare received the Houselighters of the Citadel Theatre Award, has been nominated for the John Hirsch Director’s Award and John Hirsch Prize, and was named an outstanding director by NOW Magazine for her work on Salome’s Clothes at SummerWorks. She is a part-time faculty member for Humber College’s performance program and a certified yoga instructor. Clare is a former Associate Artistic Director and current Associate Artist at Volcano.
