The COVID-19 Pandemic has affected every corner of the world, disrupting every possible social norm and industry we know. We have experienced the extremes of human frailty and behaviour. We have seen the limits of economic and political systems. As we look to rebuild our working and family lives, what is the place of art in social and economic recovery? In times of crisis, art has served as an antidote to chaos, providing hope and escapism. What kind of practice is needed now, in this new normal, to rebuild our communities, social connectedness and economies? How can we as artists, align or re-align our creative practice to values, to the community, political or social need, to a family obligation, to a practice of being 'in service'?
